Decisions made at the european people First meeting in Göteborg, Sweden february 23rd to 25th 2007.

People First Europe
We decided that the name of the self advocate European alliance should be People First Europe.

Funding
We decided to give the Scottish group, Scotland People First,  the responsibility to look for and investigate where to find money for the future activities in People First Europe.

Website and information
We decided to give the Swedish group Grunden, the responsibility for information
and to build a website for People First Europe.

Mailinglist
We decided to give the Dutch group the responsibility to organise a mailinglist and newsletters from the organisations and groups in each country every 6th week.

How to work
We decided that every group and organisation from each country have the
responsibility to collect and look for good examples of self advocacy.

 

Support to new groups
Every country have has the responsibility for promoting and supporting new self advocacy groups.

 

Education and scooling
We decided it´s important that we elarn more and educate to be able to advocate and speak up in the best way.

We decided to give the group from Grunden in Sweden and the dutch group, the responsibility for schooling and education.

 

Berlin 2007
We agreed on a march to Berlin to manifest our campaign “Smash the
institutions!”.

We will plan this manifestation to the same days in 2010 when Inclusion
international holds it´s world congres.

Document of principals and values for People First Europe.
We decided about document of principals and values for the People First Europe.

 

Next meeting
We decided to give the Dutch group the responsibility to find funding for the next meeting.

 

Summary:

    * The name of the our network is People First Europe.

    * The overall issue for People First Europe is “Smash the institutions”.

    * We have made a document about principals and values for
People First Europe.

    * The Dutch group takes responsibility to find funding for the next meeting.

    * The Dutch group takes responsibility for mailing list and newsletters every
6th week.

    * Swedish Grunden takes responsibility for building a website and for production of information materials.

    * Every country takes responsibility to collect and find good examples of self advocacy and community living.

    * Swedish Grunden together with the Dutch group take responsibility for schooling and education.

    * All countries take responsibility for finding and promoting new people first groups.

    * We will organise a manifestation against institutions in Berlin 2010.
